Mosquitos & Ticks

Live life outdoors. TODAY’s customized Mosquito & Tick program can ensure that you and your family make the most of the summer season.

Beginning in April and lasting though September, mosquitos are a common pest from dusk until dawn. While citronella candles and topical bug sprays provide temporary relief as a repellent (measured in hours), they require daily application, and benefit only those who’ve applied it.

Mosquito programs are a more effective method for controlling pests for several reasons:

  • Actively reduces existing and future mosquito populations.  by eliminating mosquitoes on contact and treating common “hot spots” including breeding grounds and resting areas.
  • Benefits all guests. While topical sprays are only beneficial to those who apply it, integrated mosquito treatment programs benefit all guests on the property.
  • Longer-lasting. Once applied, mosquito treatments typically last for a period of 4 to 6 weeks.

Our mosquito treatment process

TODAY’s mosquito treatment begins with a property inspection to identify mosquito “hot spots” including common breeding and resting areas. Sites with still and standing water provide ideal conditions for breeding (gutters, bird baths, ponds) while the underside of dense shrubbery, underneath decks, and other damp shady areas typically provide daytime shelter for pests.

Once identified, we work to disrupt the mosquito lifecycle by eliminating standing pools of water (where possible), treating permanent fixtures such as ponds to inhibit larvae growth, and repel pests from shelter with spray applications.

Our integrated mosquito program is structured as a recurring service, designed to provide ongoing protection throughout the duration of the mosquito season. A typical treatment lasts approximately 4-6 weeks, at which time our team will be scheduled to treat your yard again.

According to a study by the National Health Institute, common mosquito insecticides applied as a barrier treatment are effective at reducing exposure by more than 85%.

While they are highly effective at controlling mosquito populations, its exposure is safe for humans and household pets. The active ingredient in mosquito barrier sprays is a synthetic reproduction of natural byproduct of the Chrysanthemum flower. The products are water-based and do not harm plants.  Spray applications typically take about 45 minutes to dry.
